Call for information on assessment of the Antibiotic Resistance Effects of Biocides
The Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks has received a request for a scientific opinion on the Assessment of the Antibiotic Resistance Effects of Biocides.
Scope of the call for information:
Interested parties are invited to submit the following information:
1) Annual production volumes of active substances in the EU
2) Annual volumes of active substances imported in the EU.
3) List of application areas and corresponding tonnages of active ingredients used in the EU markets. The main application areas to be considered are veterinary use, agricultural use, hospital use, food hygiene, consumer products (personal care and household). Please specify any other important applications in your submission.
4) Practical examples of possible changes in microbial flora demonstrated following the use of active substances (for example, emergence of new species, change in species diversity) in various environments (for example rivers, swimming pools, wastewater treatment plants, clinical settings, nursing homes, public buildings, agriculture, food production, industrial sites…).

All information should be submitted in electronic form specifying “Biocides - Call for Information” in the subject line of the e-mail.
All information is considered public unless otherwise stated by the provider.
