Call for information on the health effects of security scanners for passenger screening (based on X-ray technology)

The Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has received a request for a scientific opinion on the health effects of security scanners for passenger screening (based on X-ray technology).

Scope of the call for information:

Interested parties are invited to submit any relevant information that could assist the scientific committee in the identification of all technologies using X-Rays for security screening of passengers and in the determination of personal doses of X-Rays received by passengers being screened and by operators or security personnel remaining for extended periods in close proximity to the equipment in operation.

Submission of information:

All information should be submitted in electronic form to Sanco-SCENIHR-Secretariat AT ec.europa.euspecifying "Security scanners - Call for Information" in the subject line of the e-mail.

All information is considered public unless otherwise stated by the provider
