As part of the preparatory process for implementation of an EU system for traceability and security features for tobacco products (as provided for under Articles 15 and 16 of the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU), a face-to-face workshop with stakeholders – including manufacturers of tobacco products, solution providers, supply chain operators and NGOs active in the field – will take place on 12 December 2016 in Brussels.
This follows the conclusion of both the targeted stakeholder consultation and the public consultation held on this subject.
During this workshop key aspects of the preparatory work (based on the ongoing implementation study relating to technical specifications and other key elements of the future tracking and tracing system) will be presented.
To follow this meeting there are two possibilities:
- Via webstream: Necessary details, including the web link, will be circulated to those who register for webstreaming in advance of the workshop.
- In person: Please note that the capacity of the room is limited. In order to allow for a balanced representation of stakeholders and maximise participation, we strongly encourage organisations to coordinate their participation. In all cases, we kindly ask you to limit your nomination requests to maximum two persons per organisation/association. Please note that we cannot guarantee the participation of all applicants.
