The COVID-19 pandemic has turned our physical health, our livelihoods, and our economies upside down. At the same time, an unseen mental health emergency is sweeping across the European Union and beyond.
About the event
What does it mean to live in a world defined by COVID-19 and to provide care in this pandemic age?
This one-day, virtual event during the European Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 gathered more than 1000 participants to highlight the mental health impact of COVID-19 along five themes - understanding – living – caring – responding – acting. Fifteen months into the COVID-19 pandemic it is apparent that mental health is both precious and vulnerable. At the same time, much can be done to strengthen it, to boost resilience, prevent illness and support those in need.

Policies and services addressing mental health are the responsibility of individual EU countries. However, the need to include mental health among the priorities of the public health agenda has resulted in renewed focus at EU level.
