On 12 April 2016, the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) organized a public hearing in Luxembourg on the preliminary opinion on 'Biological effects of ultraviolet radiation relevant to health with particular reference to sunbeds for cosmetic purposes'.

The public hearing aimed to complement the public consultation on the preliminary Opinion to gather specific comments, suggestions and explanations or contributions on the scientific basis of the Opinion.
