On 27 September, the European Commission - DG Health and Food Safety hosted a TATFAR policy dialogue video involving senior AMR policy advisers from TATFAR (USA, Canada, Norway and EU).
The Transatlantic Taskforce on Antimicrobial Resistance (TATFAR) is made up of staff working on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) from governmental and public health agencies in the USA, EU, Canada and Norway.
They work together by phone, video and internet, in one or more of 18 task groups to share and develop knowledge in areas such as:
- goals and target setting
- methods of measurement of AMR
- guidance on appropriate antibiotic use
- incentives for research and development
- exchanges on overall policy objectives and methods
TATFAR is co-chaired by SANTE and the Office for Global Affairs in the Department of Human Health Services, USA.
