What's the EU doing?

The EU is fighting antimicrobial resistance through the one health approach. Working with all sectors to keep humans, animals, and the environment healthy, we promote responsible antibiotic use, fund research, and improve infection control. From school to home, farm to table, we all have a role to play in saving and protecting lives. Join us!
Let’s beat the bug together!

Parents and teachers have a crucial role to play in protecting children’s health, empowering them to curb the rise of antimicrobial resistance by making responsible, informed choices. In these uncertain times, we have never been more connected. Let’s harness these connections to defend our health and keep essential medicines effective for generations to come.
Discover how we can work together to Beat the Bug by engaging young people in smart antibiotic use and good hygiene practices. We can all learn and support each other in protecting our families and our communities against antimicrobial resistance.
Dive into helpful resources that make exploring the past, present and future of medicine and the wonders of the human body into a fascinating journey.
Together, we can outsmart the superbugs from our homes and kitchens, classrooms and playgrounds.
How to engage as a stakeholder: Join the force!

Join the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by raising awareness and promoting responsible practices. Schools, universities, Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), and leisure organisations can integrate antimicrobial resistance education into their activities and host awareness events. Healthcare providers can provide guidelines on antibiotic use and support awareness campaigns. Community groups and local businesses can distribute educational materials or organise events to engage the public.
Each organisation or group has a crucial role to play in spreading the message and rallying for responsible antibiotic use. Together we can be part of the solution and protect the health of future generations, preserving the effectiveness of antibiotics for years to come.
