Functional Disorders (FD) and Persistent Physical Symptoms (PPS) can significantly impact an individual's quality of life. These symptoms, which include fatigue, pain, gastrointestinal issues, and neurological disturbances, often lack a clear medical explanation and can persist despite treatment. FD and PPS are highly prevalent, affecting a substantial portion of the population and leading to increased healthcare utilization and economic costs.
The etiology of FD and PPS is multifactorial, involving psychological, physiological, and social factors. Diagnosing FD and PPS is challenging due to the lack of objective medical findings and overlap with other conditions.
This webinar focused on clearing up common misconceptions and management strategies such as mindfulness-based therapies, exercise programs, and pharmacological treatments.
