This #EUHPP Live Webinar has been co-organised with Hearing Health Forum EU.
Hearing loss affects approximately 57 million people across Europe, with serious implications for our ageing population. Often hidden and overlooked, hearing loss contributes to a wide range of social, economic, and health challenges including reduced quality of life, cognitive decline, mental health issues, social isolation, and limited participation in the workforce.
This webinar explored how hearing health influences economic participation and social inclusion throughout adulthood. Framed by the HEAR strategy, it highlighted how untreated hearing loss leads to exclusion from the workplace to community life and how a life-course-informed, rights-based approach to hearing care can promote active ageing, reduce disability-related barriers, and strengthen employment outcomes.
