We Love Eating - The tools

Card Game

The card game is a fun activity based on simple nutritional contents which can be played by 2 to 5 people. Each deck contains five sets based on the five food groups: fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy products and starchy foods. The objective is to be the first player to have no cards left, by creating three daily balanced meals (with all five food groups). Learning objectives include: finding out the benefits of healthy eating, comparing and discussing throughout the game, and introducing the importance of food portions and servings.

The card game is a great tool to spur intergenerational exchange at school, during pregnancy sessions, in old peoples' residences, etc.

Handbook

The Implementation Handbook the 'We Love Eating' project compiled for its partners in their Local Promoting Groups (LPGs) provided them with a roadmap to creating local action plans for their cities, including all the steps from taking a preliminary inventory of the city’s existing initiatives, to identifying needs and objectives, to designing specific actions, to implementation and evaluation. Finally, it gave them an overview of the project's educational and promotional tools, and plenty of proposed activities for each of the target groups.

In addition to providing a roadmap and explaining the 'We Love Eating' messages and objectives, the handbook also includes valuable tips and information about the three target groups – children, pregnant women, and older people – that will facilitate working with them in the most effective way.

Leaflets

Leaflets were produced by the 'We Love Eating' project team as educational tools to be handed directly to individual members of its target groups: older people, pregnant women and kids. They concisely informed about the six main recommendations of the project.

The LPGs used the leaflets to remind members of the community of the need for personal change in attitudes and behaviour towards eating habits.
The leaflets are light in contents and have a fun and colourful look to be understood by all. Download the leaflets per each target below.

Posters

The posters were used to raise awareness of the project and served as both educational and promotional tools for local project events.
The posters convey the six main recommendations for healthy eating habits in an eye-catching way, mainly by means of icons and pictures rather than text. The posters also included a link to the project web page.
