Patient Information Notices (PIN) outline how patients’ data and information are accessed, processed and stored by a participating European country for healthcare purposes.
- ePrescription (eP) allows patients to obtain their medication in a pharmacy outside their EU home country, thanks to the transfer of an electronic prescription to the EU country where they are travelling. Data about the supplied medicinal product will be sent back to their home country.
- PIN for ePrescription A contains information for patients provided by their home country in their official language(s).
- PIN for ePrescription B contains information for patients provided by the country of travel in several available EU languages.
- Patient Summaries (PS) provide information on important health aspects such as allergies, current medication, previous illness, surgeries, etc. It is part of a larger collection of health data called an Electronic Health Record. The digital Patient Summary is meant to provide health professionals with essential information in their language about patients travelling from another EU country.
- PIN for Patient Summary A contains information for patients provided by their home country in their official language(s).
- PIN for Patient Summary B contains information for patients provided by the country of travel in several available EU languages.
