Description
The main objective of the event was to present the Commission’s plans for the implementation of the new legal framework, and to stimulate a discussion with Member States authorities, HTA bodies, industry representatives, health professionals and patients on the opportunities and challenges of the next three years, until the application of the Regulation on HTA in January 2025.
The conference included an opening session with the participation of European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides, and representatives of the Portuguese and French Presidencies. The morning plenary session focused on the Commission plans in the three years preparing for the implementation of the Regulation on HTA.
In the afternoon, the conference adopted a participatory approach with parallel thematic breakout sessions organised by patients and healthcare professionals’ organisations and HTA bodies respectively. The conference ended with a wrap-up plenary session.
The conference was attended by more than 900 participants, partly in Brussels, partly remote. It was very well received by participants who provided useful and informative input on various issues that will support the successful implementation of the Regulation.
