Description
About the event
On 2 February 2022, the European Cancer Inequalities Registry was officially launched, a flagship initiative of the Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. This launch took place ahead of World Cancer Day, on 4 February. The 2022 edition of this global event marks the beginning of a new three-year campaign on the theme ‘Close the care gap’.
The Registry provides sound and reliable data on cancer prevention and care to identify trends, disparities and inequalities between Member States and regions. In highlighting challenges and specific areas of action, it helps guide investment and interventions at EU, national and regional level under Europe's Beating Cancer Plan.
The Registry consists of 3 elements:
- a data tool, which is already available
- reports focusing on the assessment of the country-specific situation, which will be published in even years
- an analytical report comparing performance at EU level, published in odd years
