- In December 2012, the Commission has made a new request to the SCENIHR to update the assessment of the scientific evidence on the potential health effects of EMF
- In 2015 by the Scientific Committee for Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR). This last opinion concluded that the current scientific evidence has not linked the exposure to electromagnetic fields, below existing limits, with adverse health problems.
In funding multinational projects, the European Commission demonstrates its strong support for research to investigate the potential health effects arising from electromagnetic fields.
Since 2000, the Commission has invested more than EUR 37 million in research projects, notably under the EU Framework Programme for Research, now called Horizon 2020.
